“The process is now far more efficient”

SPITS is specialised in delivering large quantities of automatically packaged medicine. On average, we process some 100,000 dosage bags a day. SPITS used to have to check everything manually, but the ZiuZ Inspector has meant part of the process is now automated, which means more work can be done in less time.

“The collaboration with ZiuZ has had a significant effect on our overall efficiency,” says Thea Eringa, Director at SPITS Oosterwolde. The medicine packaging process the ZiuZ concept supports doesn't only concern checking the dosage bags; it's part of the process right from the dispensing machine. The bags are automatically rolled onto the Sidewinder that then hooks up to the Inspector. The Inspector checks an average of 3,600 dosage bags an hour, and generates report data simultaneously.

The ZiuZ Collector is directly connected to the ZiuZ Inspector and rolls, cuts and seals the bags per patient ready for delivery.

The performance indicators generated from the report data are monitored using the extensive reporting program. “The ZiuZ concept has meant we've been able to considerably reduce the manual work involved,” says Thea. As a result, the process is much more efficient, with the same number of people now able to do more work.
